| Day Three: | Breakfast and depart early morning for Mgahinga or Bwindi National Parks (dependant on Gorilla tracking permit availability). Stopping on route at viewpoints as we rise out of the Ankole Grasslands (our spiritual home) and Swamps, climbing up towards the town of Kabale (nearest town to our Lakeside Safari Resort) and the three mysterious peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes. It is here that Diane Fossey lived and carried out her research, which was later immortalised in the film Gorillas in the Mist. Take a short walk in the forest or sit and relax while we set up camp and prepare your evening meal. Overnight under canvas. Try to control your excitement and get good nights sleep as we rise early in the morning. |
| Day Four: | Rise Early have breakfast and meet your Park Ranger Trackers. Head off in search of the world's largest primates living in their natural habitat. Dress warmly as it is cool and damp. Make sure you wear good walking boots and long sleeved tops and trousers NOT shorts or skirts. On your return from the forest we leave Mgahinga for Kabale and Lakeside Safari Resort. If you are feeling up to it after your hike to the gorillas take a traditional dugout canoe trip to see Bunyonyi's renowned birdlife or try your hand at a spot of fishing. If you are lucky you may see elusive Spotted otters. Spend the evening at our Lakeside Safari Resort where you can enjoy a delicious meal with fresh lake Crayfish. Relax and enjoy a selection of Ugandan or International, beers, wines and spirits whilst reliving your encounter with one of our closest primate ancestors. |
| Day Five: | After a hearty breakfast we leave for Kampala stopping for lunch and souvenir shopping, a second chance for another Equator or Ankole Cattle photo and other points of interest as time allows. We aim to be back in Kampala for 4-30 p.m. |
