Day One:

Leave Kampala early morning for Murchison Falls National Park. Rhino tracking and lunch at Rhino Fund's Ziwa Sanctuary. From here they hope to re-introduce Rhinos back to Uganda's Nat Parks. Ankole Adventures is a proud sponsor of Rhino Fund and your tracking fee and lunch helps to further this worthy cause. Depart Ziwa for Murchison Falls arriving late afternoon/evening. Set up camp at Paraa, rest period, then evening meal. Cosy campfire, chat and stargaze before night under canvas.

Day Two:

Rise early for hearty breakfast. Take launch trip up to Murchison Falls where the mighty Nile is squeezed through a tiny 7-metre gap and it doesn't go quietly, crashing down 30metres and making the ground tremble!! Lunch will be served at the head of the falls after launch trip. Guided walk at top of the falls before returning to camp for rest period. Late game drive. Evening meal and relax round campfire.

Day Three:

Rise Early, break camp, arrive midmorning at Budongo end of Park. Set up camp at Budongo, have lunch and go out on primate walk or afternoon/evening game drive. Evening meal and campfire. Overnight under canvas.

Day Four:

Another early start chance to walk in the forest early morning. Then we break camp for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arriving late afternoon you will have a game drive while we set up camp and prepare your evening meal. Overnight under canvas with a million stars, campfire and lively chat. Don't stay up all night as we rise early in the morning!!

Day Five:

Early breakfast and out for a full day game drive. See Africa's Big Game in their natural habitat. Geographical and geological influences attracted a mix of forest, savannah and wetland species to the area. This is especially evident in the diversity of birdlife. You may see rare Shoe Billed Storks and many other species. The main watercourses in the area are Lakes Edward, George and the Niles. These attract most game animals to drink or feed on the margins. Expect to see Hippopotamus, Elephants (note the forest characteristics of thinner straighter tusks), Lion, Leopard, Water Buffalo, Crocodile, Wart Hog and the elusive Giant Forest Hog (the worlds largest wild pig). There are many others if you keep your eyes open. A picnic lunch is provided with a cold drink. Evening we return to camp for your evening meal. Overnight under canvas with campfire.

Day Six:

A later rise and more leisurely breakfast, followed by a launch trip up the Kazinga Channel Lunch will be served on board if possible. Late afternoon enter "The Jungle" on foot at Kyambura Gorge to see Chimpanzee, other primates and many forest birds in a cooler lush setting. Rest for a while before your meal and campfire chat. Overnight under canvas.

Day Seven:

Breakfast and depart early morning for The Ishasha sector of the Park. Famous for its "Tree Climbing Lions" which we hope you will see on our game drives. Even if you don't you will enjoy this beautiful area and overnight camp next to the river. Often within few metres numerous birds and Colobus monkeys can be seen.

Day Eight:

Breakfast and depart for Mgahinga or Bwindi National Parks (dependant on tracking permit availability). Stopping on route at viewpoints as we rise out of the Grasslands and Swamps of Ishasha climbing up towards the town of Kisoro and the three mysterious peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes. It is here that Diane Fossey lived and carried out her research, which was later immortalised in the film Gorillas in the Mist. Take a short walk in the forest or sit and relax while we set up camp and prepare your evening meal. Overnight under canvas. Control your excitement and get a good night's sleep as we rise early in the morning.

Day Nine:

Rise Early have breakfast and meet your Park Ranger Trackers. Head off in search of Gorillas, the world's largest primates living in their natural habitat. Dress warmly as it is cool and damp. Make sure you wear good walking boots and long sleeved tops and trousers NOT shorts or skirts. On your return from the forest we leave Mgahinga for Kabale and Lakeside Safari Resort. If you are feeling up to it after your hike to the gorillas take a traditional dugout canoe trip to see Bunyonyi's renowned birdlife or try your hand at a spot of fishing. If you are lucky you may see elusive Spotted otters. Evening at Lakeside Safari Resort where you can enjoy a delicious meal with fresh lake Crayfish. Relax and enjoy a selection of Ugandan or International, beers, wines and spirits whilst reliving your encounter with one of our closest primate ancestors.

Day Ten:

Rise early, breakfast and leave for Lake Mburo Nat Park stopping for Lunch at Mbarara. Arrive Lake Mburo in the afternoon for a game drive and boat trip to view the unusual mix of savannah and wetland mammals and birds. Leave Mburo stops for photo opportunity at the Equator and souvenir shopping. Return to Kampala for 7-00pm. A picnic or cafe lunch is provided on route. Evening drop-offs at Hotel, Backpackers retreats or Entebbe Airport.
