What Do I Need to Bring? Apart from my sense of adventure.

  • Clothing (In Safari Colours not to scare the wildlife Brown, Khaki, Green etc)
  • Hat Wide brimmed is best
  • A light Breathable Waterproof coat Gore-Tex or similar
  • Stout Walking Shoes or Boots. Lightweight Canvas/Gore-Tex or leather for gorilla tracking
  • Socks Cotton or a wool/cotton mix are best remember longer ones for evening wear (mosquitoes!)
  • Trousers long lightweight cotton trousers combat style most useful and popular
  • Shorts or a skirt for ladies again a safari or combat style with pockets is most useful
  • Underwear for ladies and gentlemen should be comfortable and preferably cotton
  • T-shirts are very useful and can be easily packed and washed also useful for padding around breakable items such as cameras
  • Long sleeved tops (Polo-neck sweaters or long sleeved blouses/shirts essential eveningwear, when its cooler and mosquitoes are active!)
  • Toiletries Soap, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, razor & shave cream, flannel, Tampons for ladies, sun protection lotion, insect repellent, calamine lotion or aloe vera gel, etc.
  • Adequate Travel Insurance to cover accident, illness and property
    We will have some first aid facilities in our vehicles and will postpone itinerary for medical emergency
    Once we have taken you to hospital your Travel Insurance has to cover all treatments and medical evacuation if required
  • Personal Medical Kit (not just for safari but anywhere on your trip). We recommend Life systems products
  • Have adequate supply of the following: Malaria tablets, Prescription medicines, Plasters, Antiseptic cream or wipes, Paracetomol, aspirin, ibuprofen or similar, Sterile bandage & Lint free wound dressing
  • Camera/Camcorders
    • Film/Hi-8 digital tapes/CD. Bring all you will need (these are not always available everywhere)
    • Spare batteries (UNITS MAY BE RECHARGED FROM VEHICLE ONLY WITH PERMISSION FROM DRIVER)
    • Good padded gadget bag or case for cameras
    • Plastic zip-lock freezer bags to keep out dust
    • Excellent Pentax 35mmSLR Camera Outfits (camera, selection of zoom lenses, tripod etc) can be hired for a reasonable daily rate. Ask prior to booking (Wildlife photos in this brochure taken with this camera set-up).
  • Other Items
    • A small torch
    • Guide books if you want a personal copy (not essential there will be some for group use on the vehicle)
    • Binoculars (not essential we have some for group use on the vehicle unless you want your own)
    • Reading Material (we also have some Africa Novels you can borrow)
